Joshua Bembenek, Associate Professor, Wayne State University, School of Medicine, presents "Cell Cycle Control of Oocyte Meiosis".

Bembenek grew up in Texas and did his BS at Texas A&M University and his PhD at UT Southwestern Medical Center. He started his independent research at UT Knoxville using advanced microscopy techniques to understand cell and developmental biology in C. elegans. Recently, he became an Associate Professor at the at the C.S. Mott Center for Human Development at Wayne State University. His lab focuses on cell cycle regulation of membrane trafficking, chromosome segregation and cytokinesis in oocytes and early embryos.
