Seminar Title: 'Spatiotemporal Dynamics of Nervous System Regeneration in Hydra vulgaris'

Brief Description: Jennifer will present ongoing work investigating how specific neuronal subtypes are generated and positioned during head regeneration. Jennifer's preliminary data suggest that neuronal regeneration is tightly coordinated with the formation of the surrounding head tissue, raising the question of how signals from regenerating tissue instruct the formation of the right neuronal identities at the right time and place.

The MCB Work in Progress Seminar Series highlights research by MCB faculty, graduate students and lab personnel. Participants present their current findings, methodologies, and preliminary results. This seminar series fosters collaboration, strengthens research skills, and supports the professional growth of emerging scholars and research staff while promoting a culture of continuous improvement and academic excellence.
