Plant Biology Graduate Group Seminar Series: "Soilborne strawberry pathogens of the Central California Coast"

Peter Henry, Molecular Plant Pathology Senior Scientist, Driscoll’s Inc, presents "Soilborne strawberry pathogens of the Central California Coast".

Peter earned a PhD in Plant Pathology at UC Davis studying Fusarium wilt of strawberry and was then hired as a Research Plant Pathologist at the USDA-ARS in Salinas, CA, where he founded a new lab focused on Fusarium wilt and Macrophomina crown rot of strawberry. His led efforts to develop non-fumigant methods for soilborne disease control and used genomics to answer longstanding questions in fungal evolution, accelerate efforts to breed pathogen-resistant strawberry cultivars, and develop diagnostic methods.
