Speaker: Margaret Krause, Assistant Professor, Small Grains Breeder
Speaker Bio: Dr. Margaret Krause is an Assistant Professor and the Warren Kronstad Wheat Research Chair at Oregon State University, where she leads active cultivar development programs for winter wheat and barley. Her research program focuses on practical approaches to improve breeding program efficiency and increase genetic gain. Prior to joining Oregon State University, she held a similar role at Utah State University. A native of Minnesota, she completed a B.S. degree at University of Minnesota, a Ph.D. at Cornell University, and postdoctoral training at the International Maize and Wheat Improvement Center in Mexico. Outside of breeding, research, and teaching, she enjoys birdwatching and hanging out with her cat Duke.
