Brian Lerch, Postdoctoral Fellow, University of California, Davis, presents "The Evolution of Same-sex Sexual Behavior".

Brian Lerch joined the UC Davis community this fall as the Center of Population Biology postdoctoral fellow. Before coming to Davis, Brian received his Ph.D. from UNC Chapel Hill working under the supervision of Maria Servedio, while being co-advised by Susan Alberts at Duke. Prior to that he received his bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Case Western Reserve University working with Karen Abbott. Brian is interested in understanding the intersection of ecology, evolution, and behavior, typically in the context of reproductive and social behaviors, and primarily using mathematical models. He has worked on the role of ecology in mate choice, the influence of social behavior on population dynamics, and the evolution of same-sex sexual behavior, which he’ll be talking about in his seminar.

Host: Dr. Kate Laskowski (klaskowski@ucdavis.edu)
