First-Year Academic Plan Requirement

All first year CBS students are required to complete the First-Year Academic Plan. All students will receive email communication with more details during the beginning of the fall quarter.

The purpose of the First-Year Academic Plan is to give students the opportunity to learn more about academic expectations, degree requirements, supportive resources, and how to build an academic plan.

The first-year academic plan must be completed by the end of November. Students who do not complete will have a hold on their record that prevents Winter Pass 2 registration. Express Advising will not satisfy the MA requirement.

You have two options to complete this requirement:

Option 1: Canvas

Option 2: Virtual Workshop

  • Complete the First Year Academic Planning Module, located in the same Canvas Course used for Aggie Advising
  • You can complete the module on your own at any time of day!
  • Be sure to complete all pages of the module, including the Learning Check quiz and save a 1-year academic plan via OASIS.
  • Attend a Virtual Workshop, where BASC Advisors will guide you on how to build your academic plan
  • Interactive and live Q+A
  • During the workshop, you will be completing the Learning Check quiz and save a 1-year academic plan via OASIS.
