Research Interests

Ibuprofen can increase the risk of stroke and cardiovascular disease. The signal transduction pathways, particularly the role of protein homeostasis (proteostasis) and mitochondrial function,  in cardiovascular diseases associated with commonly used drugs are investigated. Impaired protein degradation and dysfunctional mitochondria are associated with many cardiac and skeletal muscle diseases.
