Lori grew up in San Pedro, CA, a suburb of Los Angeles. She attended UCLA where she earned her BA in Communication Studies and History and her MA in Higher Education: Counseling in Student Affairs. While initially planning to work in the entertainment industry (Lori has a feature film credit as a casting assistant in a film called The Rainmaker), her true calling was education. Lori has worked in advising as the Undergraduate Coordinator for the Neuroscience Major and spent 20 years in the Office of Academic Advising at University of Oregon before joining the BASC team in 2024. Lori enjoys spending time with her son, her partner, and family, taking adult dance classes, trying out new recipes, and reading a good book or writing in her journal.
